How do I invite friends to Vodi?

What is my referral code?

Your referral code is a unique code associated with your Vodi account. You can invite friends to join Vodi and tell them your referral code, so they become part of your Vodi Network, which will help you get Vodi Points from their purchases.

What is my Vodi Network?

Vodi Network is your network of Vodi friends. Within your network, you have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations of friends. Your 1st generation friends are users who joined with your referral code. Your further generations (2nd and 3rd) are users in your network who did not join with your code. 

Do I have to make purchases to use Vodi?

You don’t have to make any purchases to enjoy Vodi. You can stay in touch with your friends and family with Vodi’s free texts and free HD quality calls and video calling.

How do I invite friends to Vodi?

You can invite your friends to Vodi by text message, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or email.

What is a referral code?

A referral code is a unique code associated with your Vodi account. You can invite friends to join Vodi and tell them your referral code, so they become part of your Vodi Network, which helps you get more Vodi Points.

Where can I find my referral code?

To find your referral code, select Invite from the home screen and your code is in the top center.

Can I customize my referral code?

Yes, you can customize your referral code, so it’s easy to remember and pass it along to your friends and family. Your 1st generation friends who joined with your previous code will still remain your 1st generation friends after you customize a new code.

How do I customize my referral code?

To change your referral code:

  1. From the home screen, select Invite
  2. Select  next to your current code to edit the code.
  3. Select UPDATE

Are there any character requirements or restrictions for customizing my own referral code?

Your customized referral code must be 3-20 characters long.

I sent my referral code to a friend, but why isn’t he/she in my 1st generation?

Your friend may not appear in your 1st generation if:

  • your friend didn’t use your referral code when joining
  • your friend already has a Vodi account
  • your friend’s phone number is invalid
  • your friend didn’t verify his/her account after joining

What is an active friend/user?

To be considered active, you must use the app at least once a month to send a text, to make or answer a call, or to purchase something. Receiving a text or a missed call does not count as being an active Vodi user.

Why do I get an error when I try to invite friends from Vodi’s contacts?

Your contacts must be saved with the country and the area code in your phone book and Vodi’s contacts in order for the invitation to go through.

If my friend is listed as inactive, how can I change him/her to active?

You can remind your friend to use Vodi at least once a month. As soon as he/she uses the app, your friend will become active.

Why can’t I re-invite pending friends?

You may not be able to re-invite pending friends, because they may have already joined on their own or with someone else’s referral code.

How many friends can I refer to Vodi?

You can refer an unlimited number of friends to join Vodi.

How many friends can I have in my Vodi Network?

You can have an unlimited number of friends in your Vodi Network. But only the ones that join with your referral code are considered your 1st generation friends.

How do I invite friends using social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google+)?

  1. From the home screen, select Invite.
  2. Select your preferred social media to invite friends(the system will generate an automatic message, which will include your referral code, to send to your friends).

How do I invite friends using my email?

  1. From the home screen, select Invite.

How do I invite friends using text message?

How do I add friends from my phone contacts?

Your phone contacts are automatically synched to your Vodi contacts.

Vodi Status

What are the Vodi statuses?

The two Vodi statuses are Silver and Gold. Vodi welcomes you with the Silver status, but it’s better to be Gold!

How do I become Gold?

You can become Gold when you have 10 active friends within any given month. You will be Gold for the remaining of that month and the next month.

What are the benefits of Silver status?

  • You get Vodi Points when you make purchases within the app.
  • You get Vodi Points when your 1st generation friends make purchases within the app.
  • You earn bonus Vodi Points from promotional offers.

What are the benefits of Gold status?

  • You get double the Silver status Vodi Points from your own purchases within the app.
  • You get Vodi Points when your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation friends make purchases within the app.
  • You get bonus Vodi Points from promotional offers.

How do I keep my Gold status?

Keep at least 10 active friends every month to maintain your Gold status. If you have fewer than 10 active friends within a given month, your status will become Silver.

You must have at least 10 active friends every month to maintain your Gold status. If you have fewer than 10 active friends within a given month, your status will become Silver.

Vodi Points

What are Vodi Points?

You get Vodi Points when you or your friends make purchases and from promotional offers.

How do I get Vodi Points?

You can get Vodi Points from your purchases, friends’ purchases, promotional offers, and more.

How do I know that my Vodi Points are from my purchases or friends’ purchases?

From the home screen, select Vodi Points and you can see how you earned the Vodi Points.

How do I use my Vodi Points?

You can redeem your Vodi Points to:

  • Get or send eGift Cards
  • Recharge your prepaid mobile
  • Recharge prepaid mobiles for friends and family
  • Get Vodi Out credits to make international calls in over 120 countries

What is the value of my Vodi Points?

1,000 Vodi Points = $1 USD
10,000 Vodi Points = $10 USD

When and how can I check my Vodi Points balance?

You can check your Vodi Points balance at any time; it is always up-to-date. It is displayed on the home screen in the top right corner. 

Is there a limit to how many Vodi Points I can use in one transaction?

There is no limit. You can use as many Vodi Points as you want and/or have available in a transaction.

I just used a Vodi service, but why didn’t I get any Vodi Points?

You get Vodi Points when you make transactional purchases, from services and products such as eGift Cards, Recharge My Mobile, Recharge Friend’s Mobile, and Vodi Out credits. You do not get Vodi Points for using free services and products.

My friend made a purchase, but why didn’t I get any Vodi Points?

If your friend is not in your Vodi Network, you will not get any Vodi Points from their purchases.  

Can I transfer or give my Vodi Points to a friend?

Vodi Points are non-transferrable. 

What are bonus Vodi Points?

You get bonus Vodi Points from promotional offers. 

Vodi Network

What is my Vodi Network?

Vodi Network is your network of Vodi friends. Within your network, you have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations of friends. Your 1st generation friends are users who join with your referral code. Your further generations (2nd and 3rd) are users in your network who did not join with your code. 

How many friends can I have in my Vodi Network?

You can have unlimited number of friends in your Vodi Network.

What is Vodi to Vodi?

Vodi to Vodi refers to communication between Vodi users. You can use Vodi to Vodi with your WiFi, LTE, 4G, and 3G.

What services do I get with Vodi to Vodi?

You get free texts, free HD calls, and free HD video calling with Vodi to Vodi.

Notifications

How do I turn on/off Vodi notifications?

From the home screen, select Menu > Settings > Notifications. From the Notifications setting, you can turn on/off notifications, sounds, and vibration.

Accounts

How do I log in and log out of Vodi?

  • To log in: launch the app, log in with your phone number, and enter the text verification code sent to your phone.
  • To log out: from the home screen, select Menu > Settings > Logout.

How do I change the email address I originally used to join Vodi?

From the home screen, select Menu > Settings > Account & Profile. From the Accounts & Profile screen, you can edit your email information.

Can I have more than one email associated with my Vodi account?

No, you can only have one email associated with your Vodi account, but you can change emails at any time in Settings.

Can I change the phone number that I use for my Vodi account?

Currently, you cannot change the phone number. Once you join with a phone number, that number becomes your account login. If you need to change to a new number, you will have to create a new Vodi account.

Is texting free?

Yes, Vodi offers free and fun way to text with Vodi to Vodi.

Is calling free?

Yes, Vodi offers free HD quality calls with Vodi to Vodi.

Is video calling free?

Can I delete my chat history?

Yes, you can delete your chat history by simply deleting the conversation thread.

Can I send group messages?

Yes, you can send group messages in a group chat with Vodi to Vodi. 

How do I create a group chat?

  1. From the home screen, select Chat.
  2. Select  in the top right.
  3. Select NEW GROUP CHAT at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Select group members.
  5. Start the group chat.

How do I leave a group chat?

From the group chat, select > LEAVE THIS GROUP.

Can I leave the group chat if I created it?

Yes, from the group chat, select  > LEAVE THIS GROUP.

Why do certain words in Chat are underlined and highlighted when I send the chat message?

The underlined and highlighted keywords are useful words from your conversation that instantly show you and your friends relevant findings (i.e. restaurant, show time, sports game, etc.).  With this cool and unique chat feature, you can now make plans quicker and easier with friends.

What is the Handwrite feature?

The Handwrite feature allows you to draw fun and creative messages to your friends via text.

Can I share my location with a friend?

Yes, Vodi allows you to instantly share your current location with your friends wherever you are. If you don’t mind your friends knowing where you are, share on!

How do I share my location?

In the text conversation, select  > LOCATION.

eGift Card

What is a U.S. eGift Card?

A U.S. eGift Card is an electronic gift card you can buy for yourself or send to your friends and family instantly within the U.S.

How do I send a U.S. eGift Card?

  1. From the home screen, select eGift Card.
  2. Select Send to Friend or Buy for Me.
  3. Select the gift card brand.
  4. Select the gift card amount.
  5. Select recipient (if sending to a friend).
  6. Proceed to the payment screen to complete the transaction.

Is there a convenience fee for eGift Card?

The convenience fee varies, depending on the gift card brand, the gift card amount, and your payment method.

Can I send an eGift Card to someone outside the U.S.?

eGift Card is currently available for redemption in the U.S. only. You can purchase a U.S. eGift Card anywhere in the world, but redeem it only in the U.S.

Why didn’t my friend receive my eGift Card or has an inaccurate balance?

Vodi’s Recharge services allow you to recharge your or a friend’s prepaid mobile in over 120 countries worldwide.

Recharge My Mobile is a Vodi service that allows you to recharge your prepaid mobile in over 120 countries worldwide. Vodi lets you choose from a wide variety of domestic and international carriers.

How do I recharge my prepaid mobile phone?

  1. From the home screen, select Recharge My Mobile.
  2. Select prepaid recharge amount.
  3. Proceed to the payment screen to complete the transaction.

What is Recharge Friend’s Mobile?

Recharge Friend’s Mobile is a Vodi service that allows you to recharge your friend’s or family’s prepaid mobiles in over 120 countries worldwide. Vodi lets you choose from a wide variety of domestic and international carriers.

How do I recharge a friend’s prepaid mobile phone?

  1. From the home screen, select Recharge Friend’s Mobile.
  2. Select the recipient you want to recharge for.
  3. Select a prepaid mobile operator.
  4. Select prepaid recharge amount.
  5. Proceed to the payment screen to complete the transaction.

Is Recharge only for prepaid mobile phones?

Yes, recharges are for prepaid mobile phones only.

What if my Recharge failed?

What if I recharged a wrong number?

We are unable to issue a refund for accidental recharges as all transactions are final.

What is Vodi Out?

Vodi Out service allows you make international calls with best rates and HD quality through your Wifi, LTE, 4G, or 3G networks. You can use Vodi anywhere to call any mobile or landline number in over 120 countries worldwide.

Can I Vodi Out with Vodi to Vodi?

Vodi Out is for international calls from a Vodi user (smartphone) to a non-Vodi user (landline or mobile). If you’re a Vodi user making a call to another Vodi user, your call is free with Vodi to Vodi.

How do I use Vodi Out?

From the home screen, select Vodi Out, and then use available credit or add credit. Once you have Vodi Out credits, you can either make calls from the Vodi Out screen or from the contact page of a friend’s screen.

What is Vodi Out credit?

To make an international call with Vodi Out, you will need to purchase Vodi Out credit. You can load as much or as little as needed anytime, anywhere.

How can I get Vodi Out credits?

  1. From the home screen, select Vodi Out.
  2. Select ADD CREDIT.
  3. Select credit amount.
  4. Proceed to the payment screen to complete the transaction.

Is there a convenience fee to buy Vodi Out credits?

There is no convenience fee to buy Vodi Out credits.

Which countries can I Vodi Out to?

You can Vodi Out to over 120 countries worldwide!

Money Transfer

How much can I send in my 1st transaction?

You can send up to $999 dollars in your 1st Transaction. You are allowed to send up to 6 times, during a 30 days period.

The amount limits are:

  • $999 per day
  • $1499 Within 4 days
  • $2999 Within 7 days
  • $2999 within 30 days

What methods to send money do you have?

At this time we have options to send remittances using debit card, credit card and bank account. You can have one of each saved in your profile.

How can I delete a sending method?

If you want to delete or edit a payment method, please call customer service for assistance.

How can my beneficiary receive the cash?

Could be either “account credit”, for the beneficiary to receive the funds directly at a bank account or “cash pickup”, to physically collect the funds.

How long does it takes to send money?

Depends on the payment Method selected:

  • Bank account may take up to 4 business days
  • Debit card & Credit card within the next 2 hours after the transaction is submitted.

What Does my Beneficiary Need to Collect the Money?

Depending on the destination country, your beneficiary must present the transaction number and valid official photo identification such as a driver’s license, passport, visa, etc.

Is there a limit to the amount of contacts I send money to?

You can have up to 6 persons registered in your contact list.

How can I delete a contact?

If you want to remove a beneficiary, please call customer service for assistance.

Why I can´t access to my account anymore?

For security reasons your account may get locked. Please transfer to please call customer service for assistance unlocking the account.

What is the dollar rate and fee?

I typed wrong the name of my beneficiary. Is it possible to correct?

Yes, as long as the payer allows the correction. Please call customer service for assistance.

Which services and products can I purchase from Vodi?

Vodi offers the following paid services and products:

What types of payment methods does Vodi accept?

The accepted payment method depends on your country and currency. Vodi accepts major payments, such as AMEX, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, PayPal and Vodi Points. 

Can I save my payment information on Vodi?

You can save your payment information securely on Vodi for express check out. Vodi’s secured authentication allows you to set a passcode once you submit the payment. If you forget the passcode, Vodi allows you to delete the payment and then create a new passcode after you enter the payment again.

What if I chose the wrong payment method?

If you’re still in the process of transaction, you can go back and change your payment method. However, if you’ve already completed the transaction, you cannot change payment methods.
